Name of Officiating Curate Book Page 170

I am grateful to Stephen Nulty http://www.prescot-rollofhonour.info/stephen_nulty  for providing me with the following:

On Page 170, in your entry regarding the Prescot Reporter article on Hewitt’s death, you note that the officiating minister’s name was not clear from the microfilm.

I can tell you that the funeral was overseen by Arthur Edward Bass, Curate. Born around 1882 in Derbyshire, my records show him officiating at many funerals at St Mary’s between March 1908 and November 1911.

In the 1911 census, he is shown to be living at Kelvin Cottage, Warrington Road, Prescot. Aged 29, he is recorded as a widower but with a one year old daughter, Freda. By the time of the 1914 Electoral Roll, he is no longer living in Prescot…but I don’t know where he went.
